Jingyang Huang
Dr. Jingyang Huang is an Assistant Professor at the School of Public Policy, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Social Science from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Before joining CUHK (Shenzhen), Dr. Huang gained professional experience as an RGC Postdoctoral Fellow in the Division of Social Science at HKUST (2022-2023), followed by a role as Research Assistant Professor at the same institution (2023-2025). His research interests span comparative political economy, political sociology, and public policy, with a focus on government-business relations, state-society dynamics in the digital era. Dr. Huang’s work examines the relationship between state power and technological enterprises, particularly in China’s information technology and AI industries. His publications include articles in China Journal, China Quarterly and Studies in Comparative and International Development, as well as book chapters on Chinese social organization and industrial policies. He has also contributed to Chinese academic journals and media. Dr. Huang’s ongoing projects include a book, Security Leverage: The Political Economy of Digital Social Control in China, and several working papers on digital governance, digital technological diffusion, and skill formation in the AI era.
